IndieWed (And the Return of Wedding Wednesday)

A couple of weekends ago, my bestie Natalie and I ventured into the city to check out IndieWed. Okay, I ventured into the city because I'm boring and live in the 'burbs. But Natalie met me because she is fabulous and lives in the city. Oh, and by the way, right before we went to IndieWed, Nat was taking a calligraphy class. She's beyond.

The tickets were a gift from Katie Jayne of Jayne Weddings and it was so much fun! Not gonna lie, I fell in love with 85 million different things I saw there- a little overwhelming (so many great ideas and so much to look at!) but overall, it was so inspiring and I can only hope that one day I will have a booth there...

Here are some pics from our little adventure-

Green themed candy and sea salt caramels

Pretty dessert tables...

I loved these glass balls hanging...

Yummy handmade truffles

I have to say that one of my favorite parts was all the creative business cards! I love a good chevron...

So many colors so early in the mornin

One of the things that I love about Spring is that it is lighter out early in the morning.

I hate getting up when it's still dark out. I also hate getting up early in general.

But I love it when I wake up and drive to work with a pretty sunrise.

Happy Monday ya'll!

5 things

Its the return of the 5 things I'm currently loving RIGHT NOW

1. These curtains at the salon where I get my hair did- they don't cover a window or anything, they're just on the wall but I love them

2. A good glass of vino and some local brews make Saturday nights extra fun

3. I love this skyline

4. A little more ombre- blondes have more fun, right?

5. The moon is still visible sometimes on my morning drive...while I don't love waking up super early, I do love looking at a pretty moon

Vday

Happy valentines day lovelies! I am sending my love all around the world- and I hope everyone has a day that's filled with love. Ok I hope that I have a day thats filled with love (just sayin').

I know that all the other girls at work are going to be sent flowers by their boyfriends/husbands/secret admirerers. And I'm just gonna have to deal with it.

Here are some conversations I'm expecting to have today:

Random person at work: "Hey Liz! All the girls have gotten/are getting flowers sent to them! Is anyone sending you flowers today?"
Me: "Nope, no one is gonna be sending me any flowers. But it's ok, I hate flowers anyways (no I don't, I love flowers)

Another random person at work: "Hey Liz! What are you doing tonight? Got a hot date planned for valentines day?"
Me: "Nope. No hot dates planned... I'm single, And I'm perfectly fine with it. Also, that was so thoughtful of your husband to send you three dozen roses and a diamond bracelet to the office! And you're so lucky he made you breakfast in bed this morning! And I love it when you tell me all the wonderful/awesome/amazing things he's done for you today! (no I don't, and no I'm not bitter or jealous at all)"

Final random person at work: "How was your weekend? I'm sure you had a nice dinner with someone special...?"
Me: "Nope."
Rando at work: "Oh, we'll I'm sure you did something fun and exciting?
Me: "Well on Saturday I got drunk on skinnygirl margaritas and watched two Ryan Gosling movies and maybe ate 10-12 Oreos and then color coordinated my closet and played tetris on my iPad for 2 hours. So yes, it was beyond exciting."
Rando: "Hahahahaha oh Liz! You are so funny sometimes!"

In all reality, I did have a very fun (and appropriately single) weekend. Friday night consisted of seeing The Vow. Has anyone else seen it? Um, Channing Tatum anyone? He is so heavenly. Also, I forgot what middle school girls are like. I don't love sharing a theater with 85 million of them.

And my Saturday night was spent pretty much the way I described it above. Throw in a little project runway all stars and Zooey Deschanel on SNL and I call it a pretty successful valentines day weekend. Albeit a little pathetic, I think it's perfectly fine and normal to chill out with my dvr all weekend long!

As far as tonight goes, I'm treatin it like any other normal Tuesday. So home from work around 6/7 and in bed by 9! It's a glamorous life, but someone has to live it. And I threw in this pic of Gladys because she loves me no matter what.

Sickness

I swear there has been some sickness spread throughout my office.

Sore throats, stuffy/runny noses and coughs are everywhere.

Unfortunately, I also got hit with some of the sickness. I thought I would've been safe (considering how much hand sanitizer I use) but no luck.

So last weekend was spent with lots of tissues and consuming as much vitamin c as possible.

Here's hopin the the winter weather colds are done for the year!

I kinda suck sometimes...

Ok ok ok. I know what I said. I believe I said something about writing more often and promising to keep you guys updated on the 'going ons' in my life (does that make sense? I don't think so but whatever).

Well, I lied.

Ok, I didn't lie per se.

I more so made a promise that I couldn't keep.

Ok ok I could have probably kept my promise I've just been a little lazy as of late.

I could try to chalk it up to the colder winter weather but it was almost 50 degrees here last week. And I think we all know that 50 degrees in February is very beyond strange for Chicago. Global warming, or climate change (or whatever the correct term is, clearly I'm not a scientist- and I don't pretend to be)

Where were we?

Ah yes, my whole 'sorry I lied and I'm lazy' explanation.

That's about all I have. Sorry I lied and I'm lazy.

I kinda suck sometimes. But most times I'm pretty awesome (not to toot my own horn or anything).

Also, you know what else kinda sucks right now? This snow...

I'm gonna try to do better this time. Here's hopin I'm not writing this exact same post in two weeks...
