I am all sorts of grown up

So now that I have an official 'big girl' job, I have been displaying all sorts of other grown up behavior.

I pick up my dry cleaning on a weekly basis and regularly go to bed at 9 pm because I'm tired from my commute.

Speaking of my commute... I love taking pictures of the scenery on my way to my job. The sun rises during my drive (which is one hour long...) but it is so pretty. So pretty. It makes me happy and then I am happy at work.

Sadly, when I leave work, it's pitch black out. So nothin pretty to look at. And then I come home and I'm drained of all my energy.

But back to the happy part of my drive.. Here's a couple of pictures (and I hope they make you happy too!)

Christmas and a new job!

Has anybody seen the video of the little girl from Toddlers and Tiaras?!
"a dolla makes me holla honey boo boo!"

Sorry... I had to. And I'm laughing as I write this. It's no secret that I was desperately looking for employment. In reality, I probably spent a good three months unemployed. Aside from babysitting, I really didnt have a way to make money, and I think it was the most humbling experience of my entire life.

It is extremely frustrating to apply for hundreds of jobs and not get a response from anyone. It's even more frustrating to interview for lots of jobs only to be told that I wasn't old enough or didn't have enough experience.

I think I went through a minor depression period but I really tried to focus on me. I woke up every morning early and I made sure to get out of the house. Adding to my frustration (and the reason I was MIA from the blog...)was that my computer crashed. Thank heavens that I had saved everything to my external hard drive but still, no computer, and no way to afford to buy a new computer = a very sad little girl.

Thankfully my parents took pity upon me and for Christmas they bought me an iPad! (I think Santa has been reading the blog...) and through some connections with a best friend from college, I was able to secure a job!

2011 was a year of change for me. The first 6 months of the year were spent in France. And the rest of the year was really a soul searching experience. 2012 is my year though. And I can't wait for all the exciting things that are going to be happening!

Oh and now that I have an iPad, you can bet your bottom dollar that I use instantgram ever chance that I get! Here ar some of my five pics from Christmas :)

New Year, New Resolution

I think that New Years resolutions are a tricky thing. People expect to suddenly change something at the stroke of midnight. When really, change needs to be a little more gradual...

I admit I have fallen victim to the whole "this year I will eat healthy and workout everyday and lose lots of weight" New Years resolution. And I diligently make it to the gym everyday for about a month. And I'll admit, it feels good. But the second I would slip up even a little- maybe have an extra scoop of ice cream or miss a day at the gym, I would feel crazy guilty!

So this year I have resolved to make a couple of changes, but nothing drastic. (drumroll please....)

1. Be healthy. Not just physically healthy (I'll have you know I started taking vitamins) but also mentally healthy. Aka turning off the tube and reading or writing. As well as going for walks, or workouts, or yoga or whatever!

2. Be more responsible. If you know me, I'm sure you're asking- wait, is it possible to be more responsible?! But I wanna be more responsible in terms of money- stickin to a budget and saving a little bit

3. (Continuation from last year) stop being afraid to do things- you only get one life and frankly, if the Mayans are right, 2012 will be the end of the world- so why not live it up, right?

Cheers to a new job, new car, new friends, and pretty soon, a new apartment! 2012 is gonna be a great year, I can feel it now!

It's been a while...

Sorry I have disappeared from the world for almost the past month! Things have been a little hectic around these parts and are just now settling down.

Here are some things that I missed in the past couple of weeks

- the one year anniversary of B and B (more on that later this week, pinky promise)

- Christmas and New Years celebrations (again, more on that later this week)

- lots of other little life changes

The past couple of weeks involved a move (that's the fifth one in a year for anyone who's counting) and starting a new job (that I loooove). It's also involved visiting my favorite city multiple times and spending lots o time with the people that are dear to my heart.

Big things are in the works around here and I pinky promise I will be better about keeping you guys informed.

What have you been up to? And stay tuned tomorrow for my New Years Resolutions!
