This past weekend was dedicated to driving long distances in cars and seeing my family! Oh, and goin to the movies
On Friday, I packed my bags in Ann Arbor (as pictured below, I have a very precise way to pack) and then I made my way to my parents' house in Illinois (time spent in car: 4 hours)
That night, I went to the movies with my brothers (we saw Transformers 3 and I'm embarassed to say that I knew more about the robots/movie than they did. And they're 16 year old boys...)
Saturday morning, my mama and I drove to Indiana for her family reunion (time spent in car: around 3 hours). We drove through lots of "windmills"
My sister met us there (she had to drive all the way from St. Louis, MO so I really have no room to complain about being in the car for 3 hours).
Saturday was spent visiting with my grandma and aunt (I haven't seen them since before I went to France- so over six months ago!)
Then Saturday night, mama, kit kat and I went and saw Horrible Bosses (Jen Aniston, I heart you no matter what, but I was not expecting that!) Afterwards, we may or may not have gone to an Irish bar (that really reminded me of my whirlwind Dublin vacation) and my mom may or may not have 'borrowed' some really cool pint glasses from them.
Sunday was spent visiting with my mom's family that I haven't seen for ELEVEN YEARS! That's simply too long. I heard so many stories, it was a lot of fun.
AND we decided that our next family reunion is going to be on a cruise to the south of France, not too shabby!
We were in no hurry to leave because we were havin a good time looking at pictures from family reunions in the 1920s
Around 7:30, we decided that we were ready to go and kit kat and I began our (close to) 5 hour drive back up to Ann Arbor (because she's staying with me this week woot woot).
It was a quick trip but so nice to see everyone!
