I try to be diligent about drinking water. Really I do. But I love me some diet coke. And so sometimes, diet coke wins over water.
On Friday, I had my first facial EVER. Loved it. Going again. Aveda is the bomb. (that's right, I said it)
I have this crazy sensitive skin that gets really red and irritated whenever I try out a new product. We're talkin' whenever I try a new moisturizer.
Once, when I was in high school, I thought it would be a good idea to get my eyebrows dyed.
Of course my skin reacted to the dye and within 24 hours my eyes were swollen shut and my eyebrows/forehead looked borderline caveman-esque.
So needless to say, I was pretty nervous about getting a facial. Because the caveman look does not look good on me.
Back to the facial. It was heavenly and included a massage. And when she suggested that I get routine facials once a month, I did not complain one bit.
Granted, the odds that I actually get myself to a spa once a month are slim to none, but still, I really like entertaining the thought.
So back to the whole 'water' thing. The woman giving me the facial informed me that it was crucial that I drink a lot of water over the next 48 hours. Apparently, my skin needed "to re-hydrate after purging all the impurities".
So of course, all I drank for those 48 hours was aqua. (and maybe one small peppermint hot chocolate- because peppermint hot chocolate is my favorite kind)
I don't know if it's the facial. Or the drinking of water. Or just that I'm happy for Thanksgiving, but my skin is glowing.
Not in a neon-green-glowing, but in a 'wow, your skin looks really good' glowing.
Now if only she could tell me to eat more vegetables and go to the gym everyday.
And side note- don't try to hurry out of your pedicure to make it on time to your facial (I know how that makes me sound...) because then this will happen:
and sorry my toes are purple....that tends to happen when I'm chilly...
